Description
The text translates to "Forget what I said, there was no ice cream left"
A collaborative assignment my class did with the photo students at our school. Initially we were to select two text messages we had in our inboxes on our cellphones: one that made us feel happy and one that made us feel angry/sad. The messages were then passed on to the photo students who took a picture for each one to capture the feeling of the message. Then we chose which feeling we preferred to work with and were presented with a random picture with the same feeling. We were then supposed to make an illustration/montage in photoshop or illustrator, or with the use of both programs as I did, containing the picture we got in some form, and of course, the message. Kind of annoyingly we did not have the option to choose the size of the text or which font that was to be used.
I got a picture of an empty Ben & Jerry's box, which at first felt a little boring. After I added a picture of my friend and classmate Jakie, which I shot myself, and then vectorized both pictures, added some scanned watercolour splatters i put together, it felt rather promising. After some finishing touches in photoshop I can honestly say that I think it turned out pretty nice.
It is to be printed on some kind of bubble-plastic material and put on display on an exhibition later on together with the rest of my class' artwork.
